Our Approach
At Emerge Counselling Gippsland, the services offered are tailored to address the unique and complex needs of those affected by family violence. Our counsellor is a Family Violence specialist who understands the profound and multifaceted nature of family violence, offering compassionate and effective support to help clients navigate their healing journey.
Strengths-Based Approach
The strengths-based approach is central to the counselling services at Emerge Counselling Gippsland. Rather than focusing on deficits, this approach highlights and builds upon the inherent strengths and resilience of clients. By recognizing and fostering these strengths, clients are empowered to reclaim their lives and move towards a future defined by their capabilities and aspirations.
LGBTIQA+
Family violence is a profound social issue affecting individuals across all communities, including the LGBTIQA+ population. While awareness and services around family violence have improved significantly in Australia, those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, or other diverse sexualities and genders (LGBTIQA+) can encounter unique challenges and barriers when seeking help.
Emerge Counselling Gippsland aim to respond to these needs, by providing safe, inclusive, and affirming support for LGBTIQA+ people who have or are currently experiencing family violence.

Our counsellor works collaboratively with clients, ensuring that their voices are heard and their choices respected. This individualised care promotes a sense of agency and self-determination, which is crucial for healing and recovery.
